Secrets of the Little Blue Box

Secrets of the Little Blue Box
– Transforming a fascinating digital read into a printed book –

This is a story that was first published in Esquire in 1970. I read it a couple years back on the internet, in the medium’s purest (and you could say most boring) form – black text on a white background. I’ve been fascinated ever since — it tells a “story so incredible it may even make you feel sorry for the phone company”. Essentially it’s about exploiting America’s 1960s phone system by whistling into phones, which allowed for free calling around the world. This fascination of mine led to a desire to have it physically, to be able to bring it with me and re-read whenever I’d like to.
The result is this — a 96-page, sewn-perfect-bound, book. It includes the story and an attachments section with a few photographs and technical documents, as well as links to audio and other resources on the internet.
